(Editor's note: now I've finished this post, it is, by a very long way, no longer 'last night'. But the text was retained for 'flavour'.)
Firstly though, here are some pictures of that night I went wandering round. Some of these have actually turned out better than I thought they did at the time, so it wasn't too bad an evening after all. Ah blessed hindsight.
There you are.
You can always fix a situation after the event. You're a bit like nostalgia really: all bollocks, but then you take on a more significant meaning when one has moved far enough away from it for the feeling at the time to become hazed in a sort-of deluded and fuzzy mist of semi-remembrance. How you mock me with your purported 'knowledge'... bah/meh.
Street at night.
Vending machine.
Another vending machine about 10' away from the other one.
Street.
More street.
Bus stop.
Phone box.
Main road.
More street.
Same street but with less illumination. Those things that look like disembodied eyes are cool.
Statue.
Vending machine.
Statue.
Vending machine.
Street.
Another street. I think that looks like Hirokoji dori.
Same.
Street opposite shop with the burning can of coffee.
Same as above.
Another street.
Random randomness.
The park, as observed through a lovely cloud of smoke.
The thing that was next to the bench I was sitting on.
So technically these above pics belong in the Reality Check section, but they can go here. Why the fuck not, eh ?
OK, the next ones are from a few nights ago... Maybe Thursday...? Met Ashley just outside his building and we then met some people inside the Cocola Front tower.
So some of these pictures look like they're right out of a fucking MFI catalogue or some shit like that. Or it's some crazy showhome. It ain't, it really is just before the lift...
Random snap of random thing on the way there...
Metal by night.
So this is just random footage of the walk up there... I just kind of found this; totally forgot I had taken it... too... much... photo/cinematographic... shit... AAARRGGGHHH. OK, I feel better now.
Vending machines, vending machines, vending machines...
GIANT MOVING CRAB.
Swanky lift featuring art.
Champers alright for you, Pats...?
Menu in swanky bar. In this swanky bar I asked if we could smoke as I couldn't see ashtrays and the place didn't smell of... well, ashtrays.
My question was met with general derision.
Inside the bar. Gaijin of many persuasions.
Random lights from above. Ooh, lights from above. How very retrotheological.
Just outside the lift on the floor of the swanky bar... 'spretty random, really.
Turn a bit to the right in the same place as above and this is what one beholds.
And further to the right.
Straight down the middle... Who would live in a house like this...?
Then we had to pass by my brother's office. That is thus:
Yes... Hondaplus. A packinging and materials company. My brother does graphic design and maintains the website... This website:
http://www.hondaplus.co.jp/
This is some art in my brother's office made by an artist who takes the just-processed material and works them into shapes and whorls and suchlike.
...this artist, in fact.
The lower half of the above.
I could never work in such a place... far too many colours and (cool) things. I'd be overstimulated the whole time and would drive myself mental.
And then we left and went on our merry way. The below is the merry way in which we went.
Sake barrels outside a bar on the aforementioned 'merry way'.
Scotch Lounge Melody. Or at least that's what they will have you believe...
This poor, pathetic, lonely-looking thing was just sitting outside a shop. I took a picture of it, not only because it fulfills the 'random' criteria of my preferred style, but also because I wanted it to know it was loved. It doesn't look like it feels that loved.
This time with added light. Now you see what I saw.
OK, this is the end of the mishmash. I have more crap to upload, including an actual mash-up.
Heavy weekend man... sigh...
So watch this space for random mash-up and anything else I may have forgotten I had.
Fare thee well...
